Terms of Service

Last updated: November 1, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to replacemrr. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website, public API and CLI, which list companies that replaced paid software and what they report saving. By using replacemrr, you agree to these Terms.

2. Accounts

You need a Google or GitHub account to submit, claim or manage a story. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and you must be able to agree to these Terms. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks them.

3. Your stories

When you submit or claim a story, you confirm that:

  • You are allowed to share it on behalf of the company.
  • The numbers and dates are honest and accurate as far as you know. The go-live date is yours to set.
  • It does not break a confidentiality duty. Many vendor contracts treat pricing as confidential, and checking yours is your responsibility.
  • It does not include other people's personal information.

Your story stays yours. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, rank and distribute it, including through the API, the CLI, share cards and badges, for as long as it is on replacemrr.

4. Data accuracy and proof

Numbers on replacemrr are self-reported. A proof shows that the person submitting is connected to the company. It does not show that the savings are real. Our review is a plausibility check, not an audit.

Rankings and boards reflect what was reported. They are not recommendations, and you should not rely on them to make purchasing, investment or other decisions.

5. Review, corrections and removal

We review stories, claims and reports, and we may reject, label, rank or remove anything at our discretion. Changing the numbers on a published story sends it back through review.

Every story has a report link. If we uphold a report, the story comes down until it is fixed. To remove your own story, email hello@replacemrr.com.

6. Unclaimed stories

We list public posts about replacing a vendor, with a link to the source and an Unclaimed label. Nobody at the company has confirmed these, and they rank at half weight. If one is about your company, you can claim it after proving your connection, or report it to have it corrected or removed.

7. Vendors and trademarks

Product and company names belong to their owners and are used only to identify them. Their appearance does not mean they are affiliated with or endorse replacemrr. Stories are the accounts of the people who submitted them, or of the public posts they link to, and are not statements by replacemrr. If you represent a vendor and something is wrong, use the report link or email hello@replacemrr.com.

8. Prohibited content and conduct

  • Submitting invented or misleading numbers, or a story about a company you are not connected to.
  • Impersonating a person or company, or faking a proof.
  • Ridiculing, harassing, threatening or defaming a company, a team or a person.
  • Posting confidential, illegal, hateful or sexually explicit content, or spam.
  • Interfering with replacemrr, probing it for vulnerabilities, overloading it, or evading its limits.

9. API and CLI acceptable use

You may read and build on public data from the API. When you show it publicly, link back to the story and keep its labels and caveats.

You must not:

  • Mirror replacemrr or its database as a substitute for it.
  • Remove or hide an Unclaimed, Reversed or self-reported label, or misrepresent what a proof shows.
  • Alter or fabricate numbers in a way that could deceive someone.
  • Use the data to harass, shame or target a company, a team or a person.
  • Sell or resell API access, or share an API key.
  • Get around rate limits with extra accounts, keys, IP addresses or agents.

API keys are personal to the account that created them. You are responsible for every use of your key, including by an agent acting for you. We may monitor usage, and we may limit or revoke access to protect replacemrr or enforce these Terms.

10. Third-party services

replacemrr relies on Google, GitHub and Cloudflare. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they operate.

11. Limitation of liability

replacemrr is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, replacemrr and its owners and operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including losses that result from:

  • Relying on inaccurate, incomplete or false information submitted by users or taken from public posts.
  • Any decision to buy, keep, cancel or replace software.
  • A dispute between you and a vendor, a company or another user.
  • Errors, omissions or interruptions in the service.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless replacemrr and its owners and operators against claims, damages, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of replacemrr, anything you submit, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or of a contract, including one with a vendor.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms at any time, and the date at the top shows the latest revision. Continuing to use replacemrr after a change means you accept the new Terms.
