3 teams that moved to nextjs
3 teams moved to nextjs. Most left Jira (1) or Beehiiv (1). The typical team cut 88% of its bill. Each team's old bill, running cost and net saving.
All three Next.js projects here were built in 2026 to replace a subscription, and two of them are internal tools. Inity spent 70 hours building its own project management and CRM tool to replace Jira and HubSpot, and puts the saving at about €15,000 a year. Supademo replaced Retool, about $2,000 a year, with an internal dashboard that non-engineers built with Claude Code.
Marc Lou's MailCheap is the exception, an open-source newsletter platform on Amazon SES and MongoDB that he built to leave Beehiiv. His first Beehiiv bill was $1,000 a year and the next would have been $4,000, so the old cost is shown as a range that is partly projected. He puts the new setup at about $25 a month.
Only MailCheap gives a running cost. The other two give the saving, so their full old bills count, and Inity's figure covers two products. That makes the page's roughly $1,700 a month saved an upper estimate. In return, each team now hosts and maintains its own app. Supademo's case shows that doesn't always need engineers.
